Neil Thornton Bio

Neil Thornton is the Leader of the Thornton Group of Niagara, a Partner with Business Next, the strategic coaching arm of the Dale Carnegie Business Group of Canada and the Founder of Idea Share Niagara.  He is a family man, fiercely proud resident of the Niagara Region and committed to his community.  Neil regards family and community as an integral part of who he is and how he presents himself in the business context.  Solid values, fair treatment and volunteer involvement are characteristics that underlie his gentler side. Business savvy, dogged determination and unabashed commitment make up his more rugged components.  Both sides of Neil are amply evident in his business coaching and strategic approaches.

Neil knows what it’s like to struggle while trying to grow a business.  He went through what many business owners encounter in the early stages of their development.  That’s when he first discovered the Dale Carnegie approach to solving business issues and planning for success.  Simply put, the Dale Carnegie coaching approach helps employers close the gap between the company strategy and the capability of their people by engaging them and making them part of the solution.  This moves them toward that goal more quickly and efficiently than they ever could on their own.  Neil likes to paraphrase Darwin here: “It’s not the strongest or the fastest businesses that survive, but those that are most adaptable to change.”

Neil refers to himself as a Business Strategy Behavioral Specialist bringing innovation and change to enterprises hungry for something tangible in their business aspirations.  At the outset of a consultation, Neil promises business results that will translate into sustainable, measurable, bottom line outcomes. Then he insists that clients hold him accountable for meeting those claims. He becomes a partner in their business strategy, aligning himself with their goals and establishing a relationship that often lasts for years.  All he asks for in return is the same level of commitment and determination he brings to the table as they execute the plan.

When you see Neil on stage talking about the Carnegie project, he is living and breathing it right in front of you.  He is showing you the person he is from the inside out.  When he says “No BS here please” he means get out from behind who you think you are and show us the person inside.  No one will be more surprised and elated than you.

Before shock and awe can set in about the state of your business, Neil will remind you that no one ever taught us these principles; that they may even sound unrealistic at first.  But when you see him leading his Carnegie groups, lifting people up with passion and enthusiasm, showing them what they could be if they stepped outside their comfort zones, you soon realize that the big huggable teddy bear in front of you is really a man of action.  He lives and breathes everything he is sharing, and he’s showing you how to do it now.

Neil does what all great coaches do, he commits to helping you become the best you are capable of being.  He will teach you about leadership, about articulating a vision and building the plan that will get you there.  You and your group will never be the same again.  At the end of the day you will have a laser beam at your disposal, precisely pointing you to where you want to be. You will have an action plan that aligns the company’s strategy with the capabilities of its employees and drives them toward those desired outcomes.

Where will Neil be at this point?  On the sidelines, like any good coach, saying:
“I knew you could do it – Good for you.”  That’s the Neil Thornton experience.

Neil is passionate about building business and people.  He chooses to lead change.

Craig Riesebosch Bio

Craig's focus is to coach business people to achieve their goals.  Showing clients what may be possible in themselves or their company instead of what's currently probable is a distinction that Craig thrives on.   The breakthrough results he produced in his own company as well as the results accomplished by the many Dale Carnegie Graduates inspired him to join the Dale Carnegie team. Previous to Dale Carnegie, Craig owned a 15-person company for 8 years.  Through that experience, he has learned much about the challenges facing business owners, managers and staff.  Being a business coach has allowed him to bring that experience along with business coaching skills to produce results quickly for his clients.
